Smooth Yellow Violet -- Viola pubescens
Family Violaceae (Violet family)
The smooth yellow violet is one of our more common violets. This species can be found from April to May in rich wooded areas and
moist slopes. This plant may reach 12 inches in height, producing showy yellow flowers with
purple veins on the inside.
