White Violet -- Viola striata



Family Violaceae (Violet family)

This striking violet is easily recognized from the bright white flowers. This species is usually found in moist, shaded woods and often in large numbers near streams. There is a related species, called confederate violet which is grayish in color with blue streaks and often appears in lawns throughout the region.
