Common St. John's Wort -- Hypericum perforatum



Family Hypericaceae (St. John's Wort family)

Western Kentucky is home to more than ten species of St. John's wort, but this European native is by far the most common. This plant grows about 2 feet in height with many branches with many large yellow flowers at the tips. This is a common weed found in fields, roadsides and waste places.
