Scorpion-Weed -- Phacelia bipinnatifida
Family Hydrophyllaceae (Waterleaf family)
Also known as purple phacelia, scorpion-weed can be found in April and May. Purple flowers
are produced on large, biennial plants which may exceed two feet in height. This species is found
in rich woods, most often in moist areas, especially around limestone outcroppings where there
is plenty of moisture.
