Queen Anne's Lace -- Daucus carota

Family Umbelliferae (Parsley family)

This distinctive wildflower is actually an import from Europe. The flat-topped white umbels of lacy flowers bloom in July and August along roadsides, in fields and in waste places. This species has become a serious pest in some areas.
