Meadow Phlox -- Phlox maculata
Family Polemoniaceae (Phlox family)
A common species in Western Kentucky, the meadow phlox is
commonly found in lowland areas (mostly near stream beds and river
bottoms). It grows 2-4 feet in height and produces a compound
inflorescense of bright pink flowers. This species blooms for most
of the summer.
