Family Malvaceae (Mallow family)

Mallows are a common and showy wildflower that occurs primarily in wetlands and waste places. The flowers are extremely large, sometimes exceeding six inches in diameter, and are produced on tall plants with large ovate, toothed leaves. This is a very common species along Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake. Flowers are found from June to August.
