Lyre-Leaved Sage -- Salvia lyrata
Family Lamiaceae (Mint family)
Lyre-leaved sage is a common spring wildflower of our region. This perennial produces a plant
about 16 to 24 inches in height with a square stem (a common trait of this family) and produce
clusters of blue flowers. This species is common in dry woods, barrens, roadsides and waste places.
