Wild Hydrangea -- Hydrangea arborescens
Family Saxifragaceae (Saxifrage family)
This species grows as a small to medium-sized shrub, usually about 3-5 feet in height. A large
flat cluster of white flowers is produced in June and July, surrounded by a few sterile flowers
with three petals. It can be found on wooded hillsides, bluffs and along roadsides, and
is very common where it becomes established.
