Wild Blue Flax -- Linum lewisii
Family Linaceae (Flax family)
Wild blue flax is a wild variety of the cultivated flax (L. usitatissimum).
It is a species that is usually associated with the prairies of the midwest,
and is present here as the four-state region is a transition region from the
midwest to the hills to the east and the plains of the south. It blooms from
about May to August.
