Family Iridaceae (Iris family)
This native iris is a common inhabitant of marshes and swamps. There is a large colony of
these flowers near Hematite Lake in Land Between the Lakes. Flowers are only 3-4 inches tall,
and can form large mats by rhizomes in places where it becomes established.
