Wood-Betony -- Pedicularis canadensis
Family Scrophulariaceae (Figwort family)
This interesting flower is a common sight in our area, found from March to May in lightly wooded
and open areas, often along roadsides. The petals of the flowers may be pale yellow, yellow,
red, or even a mixture of the two as in this specimen.
