Sweet Anise -- Osmorhiza longistylis
Family Umbelliferae (Parsley family)
Some know this wildflower by the name sweet cicely. Flowers are produced in umbels in late April and
early May. The plant grows from 2 to 4 feet in height and the roots are slightly aromatic
when broken in half. This species is fairly common in our area.
